If
you've ever been squirrel hunting, you'll know what I mean when I
say its an experience that you must try at least once in your life.
Squirrel hunting is fast paced, and requires the hunter to be in good
physical condition before attempting to engage in squirrel hunting.
Our team recently went on a squirrel excursion. Below is some information
about our trip and some of the guns we used on it.
A day at the range...
Recently we were able to take a trip to the great outdoors, Located
on Tuftonboro neck road, Tuftonboro. Myself and a few friends took
off into the woods in search of squirrel to hunt.
Artilery
The standard issue hunting rifles are Crossman Air-Gun's. It can use
.16 caliber bb's or pellets and the velocity of your shot is determined
by the amount of air pressurized in the dual pneumatic expansion chamber
all self contained in a sleek, yet light hunting ensemble. For a quick
40$ upgrade you can purchase the Crossman 2000. An elite squirrel
hunting rifle developed in the late 80's this technologically advanced
piece of engineering marvel is able to shoot up to 200 m/s faster
than the Crossman Air-gun. This too is powered by pneumatic action
however the gun is of better quality, however weighs more than the
Air-Gun.
Action on the Field
Although not one of the four of us ever once saw a squirrel in the
three hours that we were hunting, we were able to succeed in finding
a tree stand which must have been used in a prior squirrel hunting
excursion and deposited in the woods for others to find. We believe
our lack of action was caused by lack of camouflage clothing.
